That is a very tricky question. Officially what most doctors say, a man can have 300ml of red wine daily, which is a healthy dose. But if we take countries like Italy and France and just talk to the locals, we will find out that, on average, a person will consume a bottle of wine daily. That’s more than twice the recommended dose. Do those people have alcohol-related health problems? Personally, I don’t know. The statistics of health issues in these countries are not different from other countries that do not consume as much wine.

Moderate wine consumption can have health benefits. The American Heart Association defines moderate drinking as up to one drink per day for women and up to two drinks per day for men. Red wine, in particular, contains antioxidants like resveratrol that may help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer. However, excessive alcohol consumption can have detrimental effects on health, including liver damage, addiction, and increased risk of accidents and certain diseases. It is important to drink in moderation and consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
